This past weekend, Nintendo World Store had a doubles tournament for Super Smash Bros for Wii U. At first, I was thinking J and I both should try to enter. Upon inquiring about more details, it seemed like a pain to be the first 128 players lined up early on Saturday. We lived about 4 hours away from the store so it wasn't exactly easy to get there early in the morning. Also we realized if we lost early, then we would just end up heading back early. It would be a waste of time. Instead, we decided we rather play with our friends.
We spent the whole afternoon till around 1 am playing Smash, Mansion of Madness and watching YouTube. It's great that Super Smash Bros has up to 8 players. No need to switch the controllers around just so we can all play. We mostly played on stages we couldn't fall off. Sadly there's not many of them.
Mansion of Madness must have taken about 6 hours or so. It was late by the time we finished. Most of us only ever played it once which was over a year ago so none of us remembered the rules. Luckily we all survived and the Keeper lost. We had to make some lucky rolls in order to survive. Keeper almost killed the person who had the item we needed to escape. Keeper also almost made one person insane.
We ended up crashing at our friend's place for the night. Before we left, we played a game of Life on Amazon TV and ate pancakes at a local pancake house.
It felt like the good old college days. Except now most of us have money so we can eat more than fast food. Seems like some of us need to stay a hermit for a couple of months so our next meet up might be summer.
Other Things
There was a sale for games in the Playstation store and there were a bunch under $1. I couldn't help myself and got a few of the games I was interested in. Ibb & Obb, Tokyo Jungle, Gravity Rush, and Dead Nation. I played the demo for Ibb & Obb and it was great. Puzzle challenge and multiplayer. Tokyo Jungle and Dead Nation looked like fun so I figured, why not. I own Gravity Rush for the PS Vita in a physical copy already but for under a dollar, it's hard to pass up.
