[Amiibo] Pikachu

About
Pikachu is from the Pokemon series. In the anime, he accompanies the main protagonist and goes on a journey.

Front and back views.
Description
Pikachu amiibo looks good. The pose is kind of boring but that's fine. I wanted the functionality of the toy, not the figure.

Height: 7 cm

Weight: 42.1 g
Modifications
I made the goggles for Pikachu as soon as I received it in the mail. Someone beat me to it first, but that was expected since it arrived Monday after release date. Goggles are made of clay, baked in oven and held together by a wire. Also gloss finish. I should have done a different finish.

I plan to re-mod Pikachu into something else. I haven't decided on what I want to do yet.

Acquired
3 for $33 deal at Toys R Us.
Received: Nov 24, 2014
Opened #2.

Training
Pikachu was trained by both J and I. It was terrible. We tried to teach Pikachu some techniques but the only thing it learned was to spam Thundershock and run away. It took a while before Pikachu was able to use other moves. However, he still run around and Thundershock all the time. We tried different training methods and eventually found that amiibos get better on the offensive if they hit more often with the moves we want them to use.

Still, Pikachu is a pushover. Not difficult to beat unless a character has no projectile moves. Amiibos tend to have crazy fast reflexes. Sometimes, we never hear Pikachu use Thunder. We're also not very good Pikachu players.

Update: 5-8-2015

We decided to reset Pikachu since he always died first in an 8 amiibo match. This time we threw him with 7 other amiibos for half his levels before training him one versus one. Pikachu knows how to aim Thunder really well even in a 1 v 1 match. Also really good at edge guarding.

We're liking this Pikachu better than the original because he doesn't always just grab to kill. Still a couple of grab masters amiibos to fix.
