[Painting] New Watercolors, New Paintings

I decided to buy a block style watercolor set since many tutorials are shown using a few colors and mixing them for the desired effect. The set I brought was the Sakura Koi 24 Watercolor travel size set. The set was a good value and I wanted something portable in case I wanted to paint landscapes when I hiked.

I like this set better than my watercolor pencils set. I am able to mix colors much more easily and achieve different effects. Though I just recently learned, I could have taken a wet brush to the watercolor pencil and used it that way. Well, I thought the color would have dissolved faster but I was wrong. I also learned my Sakura Micron pens are waterproof and I could use them with watercolors.

Now I am wondering what else there is....

On to the paintings below:

Some flowers I painted last week learning how to use watercolor. I failed in painting a landscape so I decided flowers.

Landscape.
I mixed two tutorials I saw and came up with this painting. I am not very good at painting clouds but hopefully that will improve over time. I learned that even if the painting looks strange while it is wet, it may look much better when it is dry.

Sylveon girl.
A girl based off the Pokemon Sylveon. I used ink to outline the girl, then I painted the background and finally the girl herself. In watercolor, doing the background first looks better than doing the background last.

I plan to get better paper soon (after I use up all the ones I have currently) since 90 lb pills and curls up often. Maybe I just use too much water without realizing it. I may spend the next couple of weeks painting so I apologize in advance if that is all I write about.
