We decided to buy a second Toon Link when Target had a
25% off sale for amiibos. We wanted a Yoshi but there was none, so we pick up a Toon Link instead. On our way to the four swords
collection! I doubt it would happen in the end.
J dislikes when Toon Link wails his sword around when he
is scanned into the amiibo screen in Super Smash Bros. He was wondering if another
Toon Link was scanned, would it be different. Answer we found out is...no. #2
has the same exact animation going onto the amiibo screen.
After Peach's training, we realized she ranked higher
than some of our other amiibos. So, we decided to test Toon Link trained
similarly to see if there was any difference to the first Toon Link. First 24
levels was 8 amiibo free for all (no Toon Link #1 amiibo), last 26 levels was
solo 1v1 against the other amiibos.
Compared to the first Toon Link amiibo, #2 is much more
aggressive. When #1 loses his rhythm or get backed into a corner, he starts to
run around. When that happens to #2, he fights even harder to get back in the
lead. He also learned to throw his items often earlier. By level 30, he was
tossing the whole arsenal. #2 was trained on a variety of stages and he does
quite well on the stages that change often.
The only thing that stayed the same for both Toon Link's
is that neither of them use the 2 hit forward smash attack. Tried to teach him
but they never use it. There was a point in the match between the two amiibos
where they both just kept hitting each other with the forward smash, 1 hit.
We're not sure if it's in their code to never use it but we never even seen
them attempt to.

Update: After patch 1.0.6, both Toon Link's are able to do the double forward slash.
