Gardening Mama 2 is an improvement over the first game in the series. As a spin off from the Cooking Mama series, it is very enjoyable and very casual. Unlike the first game, there is a reason why plants are grown. The forest animals ask for X amount of plant in order to get more customers to visit their stores. Of course, the player gets tickets in return which can be used to buy things in the store or lottery tickets.
Lots of customers.

100 points to get 10 tickets.

Animals starting from lipstick going clockwise are Cat,
Penguin, Rabbit, Squrriel, Bear and Dog. The center is the lottery which stays
for 3 days or until the player wins the prize.

Oh no! Sometimes when a plant is ready to be harvested, it can
wilt. There is a mini game to prevent it from wilting. Usually one of two types
of mini games, swat the flies or spray the pests.
|
To get mushrooms, a mini game event happens randomly when it
is a new day. To get wood, trees are chopped when it no longer bear any fruit.

Looks like these flowers are ready to be picked.

Every day after going home, there is a result screen. In
this screen, it shows how much gardening points earned for the day as well as
the bar to the next level. By getting a level, the garden is expanded to become
bigger. After gardening points, will show shop points of each establishment of
the animals. When there is enough points to reach the next level, the shop will
expand bigger. Also this is the point where the animal give shopping and/or
lottery tickets if their request was filled for the day.
Thoughts
This game is really easy. Since only one request per day and
one mail per day for help, there is not much to do other than go home early. I
find myself wishing I could get more requests to help the animals. Of course
this game is aimed at kids but even the mini games are simplified. There is
only one thing to do per mini game unlike Cooking Mama which usually has
multiple steps before the final product.
I almost brought all the items in the shop and almost maxed
out the animal's shop levels. Also only have one more lottery to do before I
finish the panel to see what I get. Other than that, I finished the game. Like
every other game in the Mama series, it can end too quickly but it is
addicting.
Recommended for super casual play (plus it would last longer
that way).
